Le Furet

Le Furet is located in the Charmilles area, the restaurant is fairly nondescript from the outside, and once you're inside, don't expect warmth and fuzziness or anything, that is just not what they're known for. What they are known for is their signature all you can eat shrimp platters, they'll keep bringing them until you can handle no more. The shrimp come in a delicious garlic sauce and fries are also served with them. But here's the thing, it may say all you can eat, but chances are you really won't be able to eat that much! Indeed, you may feel full way before you expected to.

A little side note though - girls: trust me, this is really not the place to bring the mister on a first date... nor a second, nor a third, nor a fourth... you get my drift.

Anyway, the bottom line is if you're feeling really hungry one night and think you can handle the attitude that will come with your meal (it's not that they're unpleasant per se, but they do seem to be somewhat stressed a lot of the time), you might want to check this place out.

Cittadella

It would seem that small side streets that you could easily miss if you didn't chance upon them are often home to some of the finest restaurants. Indeed, Cittadella, a tiny Italian restaurant located in such a street in the Old Town is an absolute gem! While the food does tend to be on the expensive side, it is simply delicious, definitely worth trying at least once. They seem to make their own bread, which is always a good sign in my book, and the gnocchi is easily the best I've had in Geneva.

Baguette d'Or

I hadn't been to Baguette d'Or in a number of years but I remembered it as one of the nicer Chinese restaurants in Geneva. Located in the busy area of Plainpalais, it is a reasonably priced establishment and the staff is extremely friendly.

Pictured below, batter-fried crab, mini spring rolls, shrimp dumplings, fried rice, crispy lemon chicken, garlic sauteed shrimp and vegetable chop suey.

The dishes were all very good but I especially enjoyed the garlic shrimp, it is a rather simple dish but it so full of flavor. Baguette d'Or is definitely a place to go back to!

China Garden

Over the years, I have found it challenging to find a decent Chinese restaurant in Geneva, but China Garden is definitely one of my favorites. Located in Petit-Saconnex near the Intercontinental hotel and the international organizations neighborhood, it is a must-try for Chinese food aficionados. It is reasonably-priced and the food is excellent. I wholeheartedly recommend it!

Pictured below are some of the starters from their menu including nems, an imperial roll and a spring roll, my preference definitely goes to the two latter. These are followed by their shrimp fried rice, an excellent side dish, their delectable kung po shrimp, be sure not to miss it, and finally a shrimp and broccoli dish I quite like.
