Sushtime in Plan-les-Ouates

I think I may just have found my go-to take-out sushi place! Of course I tend to say these things only to realize the service and/or food is going downhill at lightning speed shortly thereafter, but I've been to Sushtime a few times now and I do have hope it will keep making quality fare consistently.  Sushtime is located in Plan-les-Ouates, and they have a restaurant area as well as a take-out area. Their menu is huge and as far as I'm concerned, their seared salmon sushi definitely gets  an extra mention.

Pictured below: an assortment of sushi, seared salmon and shrimp tempura maki rolls - did I ever mention how much I love cooked seafood in my sushi? Because I really do!

I thought I'd do something a little different this time and showcase beautiful photos from Flickr. There's such a wealth of content on the image hosting website, it is difficult to choose just a few photos for a blog post but here's an initial selection I hope you'll enjoy!

Chez Uchino

Because sometimes you want to have Sushi but you don't want to go to Shogun for the gazillionth time but you wouldn't mind going to Versoix, so it all kind of works out. I'm in a weird mood. Can you tell I'm in a weird mood? I'm in a weird mood.

Takumi

When it comes to chicken teriyaki, it doesn't get much better than Shibata, but if sushi is what you're craving, Takumi can definitely hold its own.

Shogun

Shogun, yet another Eaux-Vives located restaurant, is considered to be one of the best Japanese places these days. The food is indeed fresh and tasty, their sushi certainly doesn't disappoint, and their seaweed salad is simply excellent!

Sagano

Sagano is a Japanese restaurant located by the UNHCR, its owners also run Phuket and a number of other restaurants around the city. I hadn't been to Sagano in quite a long time, and thought a recent Friday night was the perfect opportunity to go back.

Quick Eats in Geneva

Parfums de Beyrouth

Many shawerma aficionados in Geneva consider Parfums de Beyrouth, located in Paquis, the destination of choice for a shaved lamb or chicken sandwich. A selection of toppings include lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pickled radishes, garlic sauce and tahini (a sesame paste).

Wasabi

A couple of Japanese fast food joints have recently opened their doors in Geneva. One of these is Wasabi, located by Rive. Boxes of sushi, seaweed salad, potato salad, noodles, rice, chicken teriyaki, dumplings and many other items are available at this self-serivce style restaurant.

Wasabi is certainly a suitable chocie for a quick meal, but don't kid yourself, it's definitely fast food.

Kamomé

Many in Geneva consider Kamome to be one of the finer Japanese restaurants. Located in the ICC building by the airport, the restaurant serves sushi as well as Tepanyaki. Because it is located in a business center, it is best to make reservations for a meal at Kamome's.

Sansui

When it comes to Japanese cuisine, I usually go for chicken teriyaki, my favorite Japanese dish. However, I do occasionally get the sushi craving. When it comes to sushi in Geneva, there are many establishments to pick from, whether you're looking for refined, gourmet sushi or a fast food solution, you're bound to find something to your liking.

Sansui would probably fall into the former category, and it never disappoints! You can either eat directly in their small but cosy Servette restaurant, or you can order your sushi to go
