Another Trip to Ponte Vecchio

I've reviewed Ponte Vecchio on this blog before. It is a good, unpretentious Italian restaurant similar to many decent pizzerias around the city. However it's neither hip nor especially modern. But boy, when they serve up a plate of gnocchi gorgonzola, it is something of a magical experience, they manage to get the texture of the gnocchi just right, and the gorgonzola sauce is that perfect balance of creaminess and bite.

  1. I'm very picky when it comes to Italian. I need something that will stay with me. Never tried this place.. but will surely give it a shot.

    1. I think I need to stress the fact that this is one of those really unpretentious neighborhood pizzerias. It really hits the spot when one is craving Italian comfort food such as the dish pictured above, but it's definitely not what I would call a high-end Italian restaurant... there are a couple of those in Geneva but I'm always a little reluctant to recommend any of them because they tend to lose points on consistency.
